On the Spiritual in Art, 1911

Open call for submissions on the subject of the spiritual in art:

In anticipation of the centennial of the publication of Wassily Kandinsky’s classic text On the Spiritual in Art, Taney Roniger and Eric Zechman are currently organizing a series of commemorative events to be hosted by the School of Visual Arts in New York City. The events will take place in the spring of 2011.

Pera Museum, Istanbul

This summer, Taney Roniger's work is being exhibited at the Pera Musuem in Istanbul, Turkey, in the exhibition Octet: Selections from the School of Visual Arts. The show, curated by Suzanne Anker and Peter Hristoff, is on view at the Turkish museum from August 12 through October 4, 2009. Octet presents over 100 works by more than 60 artists that address current trends and issues in contemporary art practice. Following the presentation in Turkey, the exhibition will be on view in New York at the Visual Arts Gallery from November 20 through December 23, 2009.
